SearchSentry — Privacy Policy

SearchSentry ("the app", "we") provides storefront product search for Shopify stores. This policy explains what we store, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Your store's myshopify.com domain and the Shopify session/access tokens needed to run the app.
• A search index of your products: title, handle, vendor, product type, tags, description text, variant SKUs, price, and featured image URL.
• Storefront search queries and their result counts (to power your no-result-query report). These are not linked to any shopper identity.
• Your subscription plan status (managed by Shopify Billing).

What we do NOT collect

• We do not access, store, or process your customers' personal data.
• We do not read your orders or customer lists.
• Search queries are stored without IP addresses, cookies, or any shopper identifier.

How we use it

• To serve search results on your storefront from your product index.
• To show you which searches found nothing (merchandising insight).
• To run billing and enforce plan limits.

Third parties

• Fly.io — to host the application and its database.
• Shopify — authentication and billing.

We share only the minimum each provider needs, and we do not sell your data.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, or via Shopify's shop/redact request, we delete your store's index, search analytics, and settings. Because we store no customer personal data, customers/data_request and customers/redact requests have no customer data to return or delete.
